GATE 2027 Registration Extended to 5 October by IIT Madras
IIT Madras has moved the GATE 2027 registration deadline without a late fee to 5 October 2026. Candidates may register with a late fee through 12 October 2026; the examination is scheduled across six days in February 2027.

Application Fee
- Female / SC / ST / PwD — regular fee: ₹1,000 for one paper; ₹2,000 for two papers
- Female / SC / ST / PwD — late fee period: ₹1,500 for one paper; ₹2,500 for two papers
- All other candidates, including foreign nationals — regular fee: ₹2,000 for one paper; ₹4,000 for two papers
- All other candidates — late fee period: ₹2,500 for one paper; ₹4,500 for two papers
Who Can Apply / Eligibility
- Current students: Studying in the third or a higher year of an undergraduate degree.
- Graduates: Completed a government-approved degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts or Humanities.

Exam / Next Stage
- Take the GATE 2027 computer-based examination.
- For admission, financial assistance or PSU recruitment, check the separate rules of the institution or employer accepting the GATE score.

- Continue to the GOAPS portal linked in the official registration instructions. Indian nationals register through DigiLocker.
- Complete the application and provide the documents requested by the official portal.
