Who Can Apply / Eligibility

The scheme covers senior citizens in the BPL category or with monthly income not above ₹15,000 who have age-related disabilities or infirmities. Beneficiary assessment and selection are handled through the implementing authorities and camps.

Benefits / What You Get

• Main benefit: Free physical aids and assisted-living devices for eligible senior citizens with age-related disabilities or infirmities
• Examples of devices: Walking sticks, crutches, walkers, hearing aids, wheelchairs, artificial dentures and spectacles, according to assessed need
• Latest Delhi-NCR programme: 662 aids and assistive devices costing over ₹10 lakh were distributed to 114 senior citizens

Verification & Approval

1. Potential beneficiaries are identified through State, UT and district-level implementation arrangements.
2. The disability or infirmity and device requirement are assessed.
3. Eligible beneficiaries receive suitable aids or assisted-living devices through an authorised distribution programme.

How to apply / next steps

1. Check that the senior citizen meets the income and age-related disability or infirmity conditions in the official scheme guidance.
2. Contact the District Social Welfare Office or the relevant State or UT social welfare authority for the local assessment-camp process.
3. Attend the authorised assessment when scheduled and provide the documents requested by the implementing authority.
4. Follow the official camp or distribution instructions issued for selected beneficiaries.
