Eligibility & Qualification
- Fresher Fitter / Painter / Welder: Class 10 with at least 50% marks.
- Fresher MLT: Class 12 with at least 50% marks and Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- Ex-ITI: Trade-specific Class 10/12 qualification plus the required ITI or NTC.
- Eligible residence: Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, SPSR Nellore or Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh, or Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka.
- Before relying on eligibility: Check the qualification, marks and trade conditions in the official notice. These are apprenticeship training slots, not a promise of a railway job.
Salary & Job Location
- Salary / stipend: Monthly training stipend: ₹8,200 for Class 10 Freshers; ₹9,600 for Class 12 Freshers and Ex-ITI apprentices
- Job location: Southern Railway divisions, workshops and units in Tamil Nadu and Kerala
Selection Process
- Merit is based on Class 10 marks for most Fresher trades, equal weight to Class 10 and ITI for Ex-ITI, and Class 12 marks for MLT.
- Shortlisted candidates complete document verification.
- Candidates must meet the medical standards stated in the notification.
