Important Dates

  • Examination dates listed in certificate notice: 22, 23, 24, 25, 29 and 30 June; 5 July; and 9–10 September 2026
  • Certificate notice: 24 September 2026
  • Certificate download deadline: Not specified in the certificate notice

Application Fee

  • Original exam fee: General / Unreserved: ₹1,150
  • Original exam fee: General-EWS / OBC-NCL: ₹600
  • Original exam fee: SC / ST / PwD / PwBD / Third Gender: ₹325
  • Original exam fee: Payment charges: Applicable service/processing charges and GST are additional.
  • Certificate fee: The certificate notice does not state a separate download fee.

Age Limit

  • JRF reference date: 1 June 2026
  • JRF upper age: 30 years; up to 5 years' category/women relaxation under the June bulletin.
  • Other JRF relaxation: Research or armed-forces service may qualify up to 5 years; LL.M. qualifies for 3 years. The total relaxation cannot exceed 5 years.
  • Assistant Professor / Ph.D.: No upper age limit

Who Can Apply / Eligibility

  • Master's degree: General/General-EWS: 55%; OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD/PwBD and Third Gender: 50%, without rounding off.
  • Four-year bachelor's degree: 75% or equivalent; applicable 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL, disability, EWS and other categories specified by UGC. This route does not qualify a candidate for Assistant Professor.
  • Results awaited / final-year students: Provisional eligibility is subject to completing the qualifying degree within the bulletin's time limit: 2 years for JRF/Assistant Professor where applicable, or 1 year for Ph.D.-only eligibility after the NET result.
  • Older Ph.D. holders: 5 percentage-point relaxation in master's marks where the master's examination was completed by 19 September 1991.
  • Subject: Normally the postgraduate subject, or a related NET subject if not listed. Four-year bachelor's applicants may choose the subject in which they intend to pursue a Ph.D.

How to check your result

  1. Open the official UGC NET June 2026 certificate login.
  2. Enter your application number, password and displayed captcha yourself.
  3. Download the certificate and check the awarded category and personal details.
  4. For download problems, use ugcnet@nta.ac.in or ecertificate@nta.ac.in as given in NTA's notice.
