IGNOU Assignment: Session & Submission Checklist

Find the correct IGNOU assignment session, check your course code and last date, prepare the front page and keep your submission receipt.

General checklist, not a university notification. Your current course/session notice decides the actual fees, dates and eligibility.

Use the right assignment, not just the newest file

Start with your registered programme and course code. Read the validity/session printed inside the official assignment booklet. A file uploaded recently may still belong to an earlier session.

Match the booklet to your admission/re-registration session and intended term-end examination. Do not change an old assignment's year on its cover and assume the questions are valid.

Find the deadline that applies to you

Read the course booklet and then check newer university and regional-centre notices for an applicable extension. Different programmes can have different instructions. A project-fee deadline, exam-form deadline and assignment deadline are separate tasks.

If the two notices appear to conflict, send the course code, session and notice references to your study/regional centre. Do not rely on an undated social-media screenshot.

Prepare a clear submission

Follow the booklet's question choice, word limits, handwriting or upload instructions. Use your own answers. A solved reference file is not an official question booklet and is not an acceptance guarantee.

Check the required front-page fields in the booklet. Commonly requested details include name, enrolment number, programme/course, assignment code and study-centre code. Never post these personal details publicly.

Submit to the correct place

Use the study centre, regional centre or official upload route stated for your programme. Do not assume every IGNOU assignment has an online submission option.

For an online submission, check the accepted format and size, review the PDF before uploading, and save the acknowledgement. For a physical submission, keep a copy and the receipt or other proof required by your centre.

If marks are not visible

Keep your assignment copy and submission proof. Check the official status/grade-card instructions for your programme. Ask the responsible centre about a missing entry instead of uploading personal records to an unofficial help form.

An assignment submission receipt and a pass result are different things. Keep checking the official record until your assessment is reflected.
